It's a wrap! May 2016

At the end of last year, I decided to gift myself a little (BIG!) present and bought a ticket to the 99U conference. At the beginning of May, I headed back to New York to meet people working in the creative industries, watch fascinating talks, and unexpectedly dance at the MOMA. Best party location on the planet! Must be because of the arts!  
As always, when coming to New York, I was hungry for new perspectives. I wanted to see new neighborhoods, talk to (old) friends, and meet new ones. 

I especially love visiting friends at their offices and see what their normal day-to-day looks like. I like to hang out with the people at Kickstarter and chat with them face to face instead of on Skype or Google Hangout. 

Kickstarter and I decided to extend my contract, so I will be working with my favourite team until at least the end of the year. This past month, I spent a lot of time thinking about what’s been working in Germany and Austria and where we need to reconsider our strategy. Some incredible projects haven’t succeeded lately, so I feel like we (I) need to do better. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve been reaching out to projects in build to talk to them about their upcoming campaigns, and while this strategy has worked with some, it hasn’t worked with others. I’m mostly sad when some people don’t write back at all after I’ve approached them offering a bit of help. The days have become more stressful while still unstructured, so I'm also trying to introduce some sort of structure to my day-to-day. Which is, well, rather interesting. 

The biggest private achievement has been that I made it to Russia to visit my friend Ani. I also forced her to pose for me in the Moscow subway. I hardly ever stage images, but after seeing the beauty of Moscow’s subway system, I simply couldn’t help myself.
