It’s a wrap! July 2020

When I signed up for the Business Sustainability Management Program at the University of Cambridge, I knew it was a step in the right direction. However, I didn’t foresee how much I’d dive into all the material. Suddenly, I was at my computer all day, usually until very late, so I could get through all the reading. It’s as exciting as when I was still studying, and I’ve been loving every second of it.

Learning so much about the governmental policies regarding sustainability and what businesses can do to drive innovation has been fascinating, and it’s really making me think how everyone should study this to learn more about the possibilities for driving positive impact. And to think about how to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals in our circle of influence.

We all have to choose a company for our case study and I decided on HelloFresh because, while HelloFresh is very successful at cutting down food waste, there are many more possibilities for innovation in the food and logistics sector.

I was lucky to also get involved with the Google News Initiative through Upskill Digital once again. On behalf of Google, we’ll host workshops for journalists and talk more about positioning, revenue stream options, ads, etc. Google invested in a profound training, and I’m grateful we got to learn how to operate OBS, set up a good presentation workspace, and how to professionally moderate online discussions. Such an incredible training. I’m really grateful to be part of this initiative.

I’ve already mentioned that when corona first started and all the bars and restaurants closed, I’d created a list of side projects that I wanted to work on: one of them a podcast and another one a book. The good news is that I’m still working on both. I’ve learned about the software Descript, which enables me to edit the podcast myself. And with the book, I currently have about 25K words of the first draft. There’s still a long way to go; however, I’m also motivated to get the first draft done before the end of the summer – which as always depends on the projects that come my way.

I’m currently available for new bookings, so if you’re working on something and need help with positioning, communication planning, or event programming, I’m happy to help.
