It’s a wrap! November 2019

After being sick in October for two and a half weeks, it felt like I spent most of November running personal errands. As I handed in my notice to my apartment, I started organizing the move down to Neukölln. The amount of bureaucracy one has to deal with in such situations is sometimes rather overwhelming.

It might have been overwhelming because, once I start dealing with bureaucratic matters, I tend to go down a rabbit hole and look into everything I want to solve and that I have probably ignored for several months.

Besides doing Google Security Demos at the IAPP in Brussels for a couple of days this month and finishing off a project I worked on for Ignore Gravity and eLab, of which the launch was unfortunately postponed to Fall 2020, I didn’t have the time to work on many paid projects this past month.

However, I’ve dealt with things I believe deserve a mention here.

First of all, I finally switched to a sustainable bank. After filling out an Excel sheet to get a better overview of the possibilities, I opened a business bank account with GLS last week.

After taking Mike Katzmann’s personal finance class, I’ve also spent the past several weeks researching ETFs. I promised myself last year I’d look into how I want to take care of my pension, and I finally decided that stock market investments might be the most sensible choice. My plan is to get myself up and running with ETFs before the end of the year.
