Business Sustainability Management course.

If there’s one thing that’s actually great about coronavirus, it’s how many digital learning opportunities arose from it. Just a few years ago, I’d have never dreamed of studying at Cambridge University – and suddenly, even that was possible.

I enrolled in the business sustainability management course to deepen my knowledge of sustainability. I was mostly interested in how the meaning of legacy is changing and what companies can expect to deal with in the future. In other words – how to argue sustainability from the financial perspective so that it convinces even the most numbers-driven people.

I won’t lie – the course was tough. Each week, we had to submit a 400-word assignment – every word counted and had to be just perfect. When I think back, all I remember is how much time I spent reading, taking notes, formulating arguments. I didn’t see much of the summer – however, when the diploma arrived in the mail, it felt like it was well worth it.

Also, it was just the right missing piece to start NEW STANDARD.STUDIO – a systemic design studio and sustainability consultancy I founded with my business partner Maximilian Mauracher
