Why I’m starting a podcast.

How should the future be?

And what does the future have to do with the past?

Someone once told me the world runs in circles. We have to neglect habits to later rediscover their good sides.

Spending the 90s in post-communist Czech Republic, my childhood was full of weird events: Every year on my birthday, we’d go out to collect trash in the woods. My grandparents slaughtered my friends, the cows and pigs, in the backyard. When my grandmother passed away, we found a whole closet full of toilet paper in her three-room apartment. And, when I eventually moved to Austria, I only had half a bag filled with clothes.

Once I arrived in Vienna, I quickly stocked up my closet, spending everything I had on fast fashion. I was eating a lot more fast food, shopping at supermarkets, and obviously drinking from plastic bottles almost every day.

I had to rethink a lot of what I thought was normal every time I moved countries, which I’ve done a lot.

So, I decided it’s time to dream about what I want the future to be but also to reflect on what was good about the past, especially my past. I decided to start a podcast to entertain and inform you, and I'd love to have you join me!

In the first season of this podcast, I’ll look into the topic of waste and share my future wishes about recycling, plastics, fashion, advertising, and more with you!

If you understand German and would like to hear the intro, you can find it here.
